NaNoWriMo

So, I'm particpating in NaNoWriMo for the first time ever and it seems promising-but maybe that's because I  started at 12 this morning-and I hope that I can conitue on the path of writing 50k words in a month. I have never been able to and my longest book now only has 34k, which took me a year to develop.

My goal is to do at least 1500 words a day and try to ignore the editing process because that's what sort of hindered my word count in the beginning. So far I have 850 words for today. I hope that I can continue my writing spree without any distractions from outside influences, which is really gonna put a damper on my social life. :(

But I digress. The only things that I'm planning to do outside of writing is schoolwork, eating Thanksgiving dinner, see Harry Potter at midnight on the 19th, and go to Dave & Buster's for my friend's going away party. All my friends have been informed that I won't be participating in extracurricular activities with them as much as I used to even though they don't understand why. But they know that this is something I want to do.

I need to be encouraged. I need to feel the rush of getting things done without trying to go back and edit until December. Are there any suggestions on how I can do this?
